2010
As another year goes by, I think about all the things that have happened in the past year. I was diagnosed with PCOS which explained my really wonky cycles. I was put on Metformin which seemed to have done the trick as I got PG on it. I was able to avoid using Clomid as although it was prescribed to me I didn't need to use it.
I got PG after 15 months of trying.
I also got a permanent job this year. It took a while, but I am quite happy with what I am doing- teaching English and History among other things.
We both got our licences this year and bought our first car. We love it.
Found out that my dad had some cancer cells, but also found out that he has a clean bill of health now.
Overall I say that 2010 was a pretty good year for the Chief and I. Hopefully with the arrival of Baby Spud, 2011 will be even better.

Clothing
Due to boxing day sales, I wanted to check out some of the stores in the mall that sell baby clothes. One store we looked at all clothing that was very feminine or very masculine. Another one had clothes similar, but some things that were in the middle of the road.
Despite finding some middle of the road things, the Chief is convinced it is a girl so he bought some very girly things

The Chief bought this for me for Christmas |
This is another of the Chief's purchases |
He also picked out this set of bibs. |
The things I choose were a bit more neutral
I thought this was beary cute. |
The one outfit that was actually totally neutral |
The next two onesies we choose together.
The Chief's mom is dubbed turtle, so we had to buy this for her. This started us buying things. |
The nursery is painted
My lovely husband The Chief painted the nursery yesterday and did the second coat today. It looks awesome.
The colour is Goblin. A little different than the one I had originally picked out, but we both didn't like it as much. So we looked at different ones and saw that this one was called Goblin and we were sold. Not sure what else we will do on the walls yet. I think I will wait until the furniture is in. I know that I want to put in some shelving. I think I will make all the accents in the room white.
The carpeting is currently pink. We want to put in a floating floor, but we don't really have time to do so. In the summer we are hoping to tackle that project ( or if we find it on sale sometime soon). I currently have a large brown area rug in my living room which I think I will move into that room in the meantime. Esp if we end up having a boy, a pink rug is not something I really want. It will be fine though if we have a girl. The green does go well with the pink.

Gingerbread House
I usually make a gingerbread house by myself this year, but this year the Chief decided to get in on the action. Here is what our efforts accomplished. I bought a premade/ put together one as putting it together can be the hardest thing to do.
We used coarse sugar to make the ground cover. |
The chief spent lots of time putting on the "lights" |
The Chief wet the side of the roof and sprinkled coarse sugar on top. |
99 days left
Wow, I am finally in double digits. Only 99 days left till Baby Spud is supposed to make its appearance. The Chief is convinced that it is a girl while I am on the fence but feeling more boy.
My latest development seems to the mask of pregnancy. It is on my chin on either side of my mouth. I was not too pleased to notice it this morning when I looked in the mirror, but I know it will probably go away in a few months so I am not going to try to worry about it.
One very cool thing that I got is a rocking moose from the wood shop at the high school I work at. This is a picture of the little guy.

I pretty much started to cry when they gave it to me. I had seen a few of them around the school as well as many handmade toys as that was the woodworking classes's project this semester. It is unfinished so in the spring I will need to varnish it. I might stain it or leave it plain.

25 weeks now
It is crazy to think that in a little over 3 months, Baby Spud will be here. School is almost out for Christmas Break. We are going to relax for a few days and then go pick up the paint for the room.
And my belly has grown. I have gained 6 lbs in the last month. Stairs are my enemy and I get BH contractions each time I walk up them. Considering I teach on the second floor, I get to feel those daily.
As well here are pictures.
And here is some comparison pictures.

Deck the Halls
The second picture is my cat. Bacon loves the Christmas tree. When I have the lights on a night he either sleeps underneath the tree or curled up in the orange chair like shown here. More pictures to come, once everything looks all pretty.

Update
Things have been quite busy. I have finally crawled out from my rock.
So that is what the bump has been looking like lately. It's getting bigger. Baby Spud has been kicking a lot, although not always very regularly. I have been noticing that moving is getting to be a bit more difficult. I teach on the second floor and climbing the stairs after I have been on the first floor is getting to be more and more slow.
In really positive news, the Chief got his driver's license yesterday. It took him a while, but he is really happy to have it now. It is weird now being the passenger next to him. He is really happy that he can drive me to the hospital when the baby starts to come in a few months.
And some more pics... this is what we woke up to the other morning. Took the Chief 45 minutes to shovel the driveway and clean off the car. The buses were cancelled so thankfully we didn't really have to rush into work.
