Got a little secret

After 15 months of TTC, I got this Tuesday Morning.  Two wonderful lines.  I am so excited.  I was supposed to start Clomid my next cycle, but thankfully I was able to skip that.  The Metformin alone was able to help me.  I went for blood work this morning and hopefully I will have my first doctor's appointment soon.  I believe my due date will be around April 1st.

BTW if you are on  my facebook/ know me in real life,  keep this a secret for now.  I am not telling the rest of the world for a little while yet.

So to start off the belly pics and to have something to compare it to.  Here is me at 4 weeks 6 days

New Camera

Well, it is not new , it is new to me.  My Dad upgraded to an SLR so I got his Canon Powershot  S5IS.  It is a few years old, but I am so excited to have a nicer camera than a standard point and shoot.

I told the Chief that I was going to make a ruffled camera strap for it.  He looked at my like I was on crack.  I am still pretty tempted to make one.

I have been playing around with it since my sister brought it up yesterday.

Here are some pictures of flowers in my yard.

Don't mind the sheet in the background.  It is from a frost a few weeks ago and I never brought it back in.  I admit I am a pretty lazy gardener.

More crafts

I had already posted the some of the pictures that I painted, but I painted some more.  Instead of putting them in my living room, I put them on a shelf for when you come into the house.  Here they are
On the Laugh painting I splashed painted it.  It was lots of fun.

Another painting, I made was a tree

My sister's kids are coming up this Sunday for two weeks, so I will be posting pictures of their artwork.

Moments of Peace

Today it was an overcast day and somewhat rainy.  It was muggy though.  I went to my friend's cottage and since the Chief was busy at home helping his mom move into her new apartment, I took the opportunity to go for a walk on the beach alone which due to record low water levels this year, exists.  I have posted pictures of the lake before, but to illustrate my peace, I will post some more.

Since it was a windy day the waves were rolling into the shore and making a wonderful sound.  It was very relaxing.  I was walking along just enjoying the sounds of nature.  However since we do live in a place that little things like black bears like to frequent,  walking along silently is not always the best idea.  So I started singing and man was my voice sounding clear and in tune out there.

I spent a good 30 mins just exploring the newfound beaches.

I found this piece of wood that a beaver had chewed at both ends so it looked like a pencil and had been weatherbeaten.

Here is a shot of how far I walked

Overall I had a nice walk and just tried to relax and enjoy the moment.  Here are some other pictures from my moment of zen.

My footprints
A picture perfect setting provided by nature without any man made help.

I love living where I do, surrounded by such beauty.  I could not imagine in a place with no trees and no lakes.

TTC Update and update overall

So I went to the doctor today.  I now have a prescription for Clomid for cycle days 3-7, 50 mg.  Hopefully though this current cycle will be successful ( fingers crossed).  So she gave it to me for 4 months and told me that it would probably bring my cycle down to 28 days.  Now I am camping ( away from the Chief) with my parents and my sister's kids so hopefully I will be back in time for that O... but I am holding out hope I won't need it.

In other good news, she weighed me and I lost 10 lbs.  I am so happy about that.  I do feel much more toned and my waist is getting smaller.

My sister's kids are coming up next week for 2 weeks ( 2 girls and 1 boy...she has another boy but he is special needs and is currently having uncontrolled seizures which does not mix well with my rural living conditions).  It will be lots of fun to have them, lots of days at the park, swimming.

I went car browsing today.  The Chief wants to stick with Hondas or Toyotas.  So I looked at both those dealerships while I was in the city for my appointment with my MIL.  I really like Honda CRVs.  The Fits were nice too.  Lots of room and very spacious.  So come September hopefully we will be able to afford a vroom vroom.

Good News

Well I got my licence recently ( for those in Canada, just my G2).  I can drive by myself now..just to get a car now.  Haven't posted much because I have been all over the place and have been busy.

This past weekend I worked at a blues fest helping to sell tickets and be security.  I volunteered for 21 hours total in two days, so needless to say on Sunday I was really beat.  The upside is I got to hear all the music for free and got to meet lots of people from all over the place, the downside is I forgot to bring a hat and burnt my face and at one point could not think straight as I was so tired.

I made another skirt so when I have a moment I will take a picture of it and put it online.  This one is an A-line skirt in a black glossy fabric.

Sewing again

So the sewing bug hit me again.  Looking at some of the blogs I follow made me think I should try making a simple gathered skirt.  So I made two of them.  Here are the pictures which are bad as I should have gotten the Chief to take the pics, but I did it myself with my full length mirror in the kitchen.

Happy Canada Day

Due to it being Canada Day, here is an oldie, but a goodie from the National Film Board of Canada.  It played on CBC frequently for many years and is a fond memory from my child hood.  Today Canada celebrates 143 years of being a country.  Happy Birthday to my country:)
